Reading

 

In Reading, children will be focusing on three different skills. Inference & prediction, asking and answering questions and writer’s choices. This will be linked to the book Cogheart.

Writing

 

In Writing, children will be writing their own setting description based on the book Cogheart. They will also be writing an information text linked to the same book.

Maths

 

In Maths children are starting off with place value looking at numbers up to a million. They will be looking at the values of different digits and learning to read and write numbers.

Science

 

In Science, children will be looking at the difference between living and non-living things. They will be grouping them in the correct categories.

Geography/ History

 

In Geography, children will be focusing on the population in different countries. They will be able to explain why some countries have a larger or a smaller population than others and then comparing it with the UK.

Art/DT

 

In Art, children will be exploring different types of photography. They will also be learning about digital art and creating their very own.

Music

 

In Music, they will be learning all about dynamics, pitch and texture using a range of different songs.

PHSE

 

In PSHE, children will be looking at their own rights and responsibilities. They will be also be focusing on rewards and consequences of different actions.

Computing

 

In Computing, children will be using google classroom to create their very own website. They will link this to other areas of the curriculum.

RE

 

In R.E, children will be exploring the religion Hinduism.

PE

 

In P.E, children will be starting gymnastics. They will be learning and consolidating different balancing skills and coming up with their own sequence.

French

 

In French, children will be learning how to describe their own school using different adjectives. They will also be creating sentences on describing people around them.
