• Oxford Owl – Reading & English – Excellent parent guidance for reading, comprehension, spelling, grammar and writing, with resources linked to the primary curriculum.
• BookTrust – Great for finding high-quality books and encouraging reading for pleasure. Their Bookfinder allows parents to search by age, including 9–11 and 11–14.
• BBC Bitesize – Primary – Useful explanations, activities and revision across English, maths and other subjects.

🔢 Maths

• NRICH – One of my strongest recommendations for Upper KS2. It develops reasoning, problem-solving and mathematical thinking, rather than simply practising calculations.
• White Rose Education – Parent Resources – Free Year 5 and Year 6 maths workbooks, organised around key curriculum areas.
• Topmarks – Interactive maths games covering number, calculation, fractions, problem-solving and more.
• Timestables.co.uk – Quick practice for multiplication and division facts, including mixed tables and timed activities.

🧪 Science & Wider Curriculum

• BBC Bitesize – Primary – Particularly useful for revisiting science, geography and history topics.
• National Geographic Kids – Engaging factual reading about animals, geography, science, space and the wider world.
• Royal Society – Education Resources – Science activities and resources that encourage children to investigate and think scientifically.

• Oxford Owl – Year 5 Spelling – Particularly useful for parents supporting spelling, prefixes/suffixes, silent letters, dictionaries and vocabulary.
• Spelling Frame – Interactive spelling practice suitable for primary pupils.
